A nice day to fly in B.C.

Alright! So this is our last leg of our trip. We pulled in to Prince Rupert, British Columbia. Beautiful little town with not a cloud in sight. We pulled up and watched some fishermen unloading their last catch of crabs. Which I learned is obviously a huge part of society here. We decided we would go down and walk around on last time before our last excursion we had booked.

Walking around little town we stumbled across some cool artistry. A rainbow painted bridge and some murals on some buildings. This town is known for being a big bald eagle town. I had not yet seen one on this trip. Being in Alaska this is pretty much their stomping ground, so I was pretty disappointed that I had seen one yet. In the end though I actually caught more animals this day than I did my entire trip. We are walking around the town and my boyfriend had spotted one up in a really tall tree. I Could barely see it because the sun was directly behind it but with my lens, I propped the camera up as fast as I could and got a couple shots. The best one I got I still managed to cut the poor birds feed off. But it's amazing to see the size of these creatures in comparison to the trees that they're in. They're just enormous, but so gorgeous. I found a couple of seals swimming around in the harbor just down the road, picking up the fisherman's rejects an enjoying the extra snacks.

This port was nice because it also had a little shack outside where they would stamp your passport if you had it with you. Since it's technically in Canada, and we didn't get a stamp at the airport because it was all done digitally through a kiosk. (Bummer!) They also gave you a couple pins if you like them on Facebook, which of course we did. :D

The excursion that we did this day was the only one that we paid for the entire trip. But I would say definitely worth it. It cost a few hundred dollars per person. The seaplane holds 5 people. We had our fingers crossed we would be the only ones but... of course we weren't haha. They picked us up and drove us right down to the hangers, which was not a far drive from the port.

There were two groups of us, so we had 2 different planes. We went to see some glaciers and down a huge river bank. It was awesome being able to see the glaciers as close and at the same height perspective they are.

From what I heard, the other group stayed lower to the ground but they did see a couple bears. A nice ride to the destination and the plane lands right on the edge of a waterfall break. Because of the environment, it creates a beautiful rainbow. You can just feel the power that the water has.

I had to laugh, our pilot parked the plane, haha as you I guess you would floating on water. Hopped out , grabs his bagpipes and started playing.! We were able to open the door and get out. Taking photos standing on the bottom of the floaters. Within a few minutes the other plane landed in front of us. We were able to get some awesome photos of that, and after about 10 minutes we headed back to the ship. The other plane did not get the chance to open its doors because of the route it took. So honestly I was glad with the route that our pilot took.

The route back to the ship was a lot quicker, since we did not take it the scenic way around like we did going there. All in all, I would say the excursion was a couple of hours. Fantastic and worth the money. Highly Recommended. We were able to book this through the cruise. But here is their information if you want to book a different way. If you didn't want to spend that much money, there are tons of wildlife viewing trips including whales, the bald eagles, and grizzly bears. Also a few trails, including the beautiful Mt. Hays. Museums, and the funny sounding, eclectic Cow Bay shopping district. After all this hiking and running around, a plane ride was all I wanted. We got our passports stamped, and headed back to the ship for dinner. Set sailed, caught a beautiful sunset from our balcony, and we were on our way back home.

Hope you guys enjoyed reading. Sorry it took so long to get everything uploaded. Been sick, and with holiday travel, just been hard.

I'll be doing my trip to NYC tomorrow. One World Trade Center, Intrepid, and much more!
