For anybody and everybody that is part of the makeup, special effects, and body paint community, knows that this time of year always brings so much fun to everybody involved. IMATS (international Makeup and Artist trade show) took place at the Pasadena Convention Center this year at the end of January. Spanning over a three day weekend, it brought so much knowledge, excitement, and crazy creations that would just blow your mind
With this year's IMATS in Los Angeles being the biggest event that they've ever had, they expanded into three full halls covering everything from beauty to gore style special effects. You could walk around for hours and see start to finish a creation that an artist or painter was creating on a live canvas. You could sit down and get up close and personal asking questions with some of the most famous creators in the business. Special effects and makeup artists from some of the best movies that you can think of. Or you can sit down in the last hall and watch a live competition with a dozen artist that are competing for a grand prize right there on the spot.
A very action packed, exciting weekend to say the least. It's amazing that this event comes together so great every year. They host it in multiple cities across the country, and allow so many artists to showcase their talents. A definite weekend you'll want to come to every year.
